Salaried Dental Service

The Salaried Dental Service aims to provide excellent dental treatment and oral health promotion services for patients in Devon.

Care is provided from 2 Dental Access Centres and 6 community hospitals and health clinics across Devon using the skills of Dentists, Dental Therapists, Hygienists, Dental Nurses and Oral Health Improvement Practitioners.

The Salaried Dental Service provides dental care in the following 5 areas:

Special Care dental service
this is accessed by referral only and provides dental care for people who are unable to obtain dental treatment either because of their special need or disability.

Urgent Care dental service
for those patients who do not have a regular general dental practitioner. It is also open to visitors to the area who are unable to reach their own dentist.

Specialist dental services
including oral surgery, general anaesthesia and sedation as required.

Oral Health Promotion
Providing and coordinating train the trainer sessions for those providing oral health care to adults and/or children.

Oral screening and epidemiology
in order to ensure the right dental services are provided for the Devon area.

Normal NHS dental charges will apply for all patients unless you are exempt, (evidence of which must be brought to your appointment).
